A Tribute...

This post is a tribute to my daughter, Ciaran who is 12 and will be donating all of that gorgeous blonde hair you see to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a program where hair is donated to make wigs for children who have lost theirs due to illness. These kids are ones who could not afford to buy a wig so these wigs are made for them free of charge. I think it's a pretty big thing for anyone to do, but for a 12 year old girl it's a really big sacrifice for another child in need. I am really proud of her. Small deeds are what makes the world a beautiful place and holds humanity together.

Congratulations Ciaran! I love you!

  3. That's great! I donated 12 inches this past May and it was a wonderful experience. I wish more people new about this program. Just think how happy some child will be with all that pretty hair to show off!

  4. First of all, that hair is gorgeous not just beautiful!!!
Second, that makes the donation even more thoughtful, and coming from a 12 year old, I'm very very impressed, good job raising your daughter, Jen!

Molly (who was happily surprised to see your post on Spindlers - I've been out of the loop FOREVER and am just getting back online!)

  5. Thank you all for you wonderful comments and words of encouragement. Ciaran had her consult at the local salon who does the cuts yesterday and her appointment is on Monday afternoon. I will post the after pics. Ciaran also says "Thank you", to all of you and she's a bit shy about all the attention. Typical pre-teen!
    Peace,
    Jen
